Per Executive Order no. 106 signed by Governor Phil Murphy, the County Sheriff’s Offices should not be proceeding with any Sheriff Sales or evictions at this time. The order provides no end date except to say that it shall end 60 days after the declared State of Emergency, or the current Public Health Emergency, shall cease, whichever is earlier.
Additionally, pursuant to an Order from the New Jersey Supreme Court, “The Office of Foreclosure will not review or recommend motions or judgments received on or after March 1, 2020 pending further Court Order.” This means that no new applications for Final Judgments will be entered until the Supreme Court issues a new order.
