Are you receiving calls from debt collectors? the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act was enacted to stop abusive, deceptive and unfair debt collection practices by debt collectors. If you want to stop those calls without filing bankruptcy, call for a free consultation. The law provides that creditors will pay your attorney fees if they violate the FDCPA.
A bankruptcy discharge releases the debtor from personal liability for certain specified types of debts. In other words, the debtor is no longer legally required to pay any debts that are discharged. The discharge is a permanent order prohibiting the creditors of the debtor from taking any form of collection action on discharged debts, including legal action and communications with the debtor, such as telephone calls, letters, and personal contacts. If you have been contacted by a creditor after you have received a discharge, you should contact your attorney to find out how ot stop these communications.
